Wonderful, Dan. I was lucky to spend a year in Milan in the early 90s and the San Siro seemed incredibly sophisticated next to the old Stamford Bridge and other grounds. Van Basten was injured but I got to see Maldini, Baresi, Rijkaard et al. The hot porchetta was out of this world too. Buona partita!

Hello Sam, thanks so much. Wow! I can't believe you saw those poetic footballers. Amazing.

Look forward to this report, Daniel. I enjoy these features on Scots in Serie A and any reminder of the wonderful Gazzetta Italia with James Richardson on C4. My love affair with Italy began through two holidays in the mid 80s, coincidentally once attending Bologna v Udinese, then in Serie B. Having started proper Italian lessons two years ago, I realised that an online subscription to Gazzetta dello Sport (its pink too) would help language skills, selection of my Serie A Fantasy team and gauge the Italian reaction to Scottish players. The stars aligned with Naploli's title win last season!

That's such a brilliant comment, Iain. Love it. The power of football.

So ironic. Just home from Fiorentina v Juve. Good old Easyjet.
