Talking about passes such as Rivelino, I remember a pass when I was covering Brighton v Bolton at the old Goldstone Ground where the press box was level with the penalty area. Bolton were defending and even the late, great Frank Worthington was back. He was anout 20 yards from his own goal when he played the ball up the right wing - about 50 yards - with the outside of his right boot. It beat every player and curved at the end straight to the feet of the right winger. The stand applauded even though it was full of Brighton fans and Worthington grinned and gave us a little bow. It remains the best pass I have seen.
