It reminds me of years ago, reading McIlvanney in the Observer on sunday morning trips to the launderette/pub. He always described the scene and the feel, rather than just the facts of play.
It's lovely to be even in the same sentences as the great man! I like that you attach those reading memories to those particular routines. A proper Sunday, that.
